Bringing together farming, sustainability and the arts

The Royal Highland & Agricultural Society of Scotland (RHASS) is Scotland’s agricultural charity and is the leading voice for Scottish agriculture and the rural community. It is known for the delivery of the largest gathering of the agricultural community in the UK, the Royal Highland Show. Held annually in Edinburgh, the Show is one of Scotland’s most iconic events, and RHASS’ biggest fundraiser.

The Society’s heritage and role in supporting Scotland’s rural economy are central to its story, so when we were comissioned to design their flagship annual report publication, we focussed on producing a design that balanced tradition with their contemporary visual identity.

We developed a layout that highlighted key achievements and data through infographics while weaving in imagery that reflects the landscapes, communities, and innovations at the heart of its mission. Clean typography, considered use of white space, and a strong visual hierarchy ensured the report was both engaging and easy to navigate.

Working on this project allowed us to translate complex information into an accessible format that appeals to a broad audience — from members and stakeholders to the wider public. The finished report serves not just as a record of the year’s activities, but also as a reflection of the organisation’s continuing impact on Scotland’s agricultural and rural industries.
