The Aquaculture Academy is a Scottish Sea Farms initiative developed to inspire the next generation of talent in aquaculture. Aimed at school-leavers exploring career options, the Academy blends classroom learning with real-world experiences such as on-farm placements, business department rotations, and training in essential life skills like interviewing and writing job applications.
For this forward-looking project, we were commissioned to design the Aquaculture Academy brand, to create a visual identity that reflects the brand values. The design needed to appeal to students while maintaining the professionalism and credibility of Scottish Sea Farms.
The final brand identity draws inspiration from the pencil — a universal symbol of learning and growth — and the fish, representing the aquaculture industry at the heart of the initiative. By integrating these two elements into a single, cohesive form, the logo communicates the Academy’s mission to equip the next generation with the knowledge and practical skills to thrive in the sector.
The clean, streamlined design ensures versatility across both print and digital applications, while the balance of professionalism and accessibility reflects Scottish Sea Farms’ commitment to growth, sustainability, and opportunity in their future careers.
